Announcing Entrepreneur In Residence, Matty Mo: The Most Famous Artist #TMFA
NomadX is ecstatic to have Matty Mo, known as The Most Famous Artist, join us in Lisbon, Portugal as an Entrepreneur-in-Residence from mid-July through the end of August. His viral publicity stunts and creative art projects engage the public, stir controversy, and provide thought-provoking social commentary. His latest projects include:
- Painting an entire city block pink in order to draw attention to gentrification — covered by the New York Times
- Upstaging Snapchat’s IPO in New York City by creating a provocative gallery of snapchats repurposed into artwork
- Creating the most photographed mural in the world
- Stealing the show at an art gallery — where he didn’t have a single piece on display
Matty Mo gives The Most Interesting Man in The World a run for his money. As a successful entrepreneur, investor, global traveler, conceptual artist, and internet sensation, Matty has fascinated millions with his endless supply of brilliant ventures and creative tactics. He has mastered the human psyche and captivates an audience — the core of his international success.
Driven by data and inspired by people, Matty launched his career during his undergraduate studies at Stanford where he started and sold The Commotion Group and co-founded Sharethrough. These early successes launched him to the forefront of the Ad Tech industry where he traveled the world, eventually selling over $100M+ of advertisements. Ferociously pursuing opportunities, Matty founded his third major venture, AlphaBoost, while simultaneously investing and advising companies, including Wildfire, which was bought by Google for $350M in 2012.
In 2013 Matty began his next adventure and embraced the persona of The Most Famous Artist, despite having no formal training. Unable to paint and completely unknown in the world of art, Matty embraced the challenge through a brilliant data-driven approach that appealed to millennials and relied on 21st century viral media. Matty persevered past sharp criticism and landed international recognition through an ongoing series of publicity stunts surrounded in social commentary and public engagement.
NomadX Co-Founder and Chairman, Dave Williams says that, “We are super excited to have Matty #TMFA join us this summer as we have been collaborating and competing against each other over the last decade of our careers. Matty’s the ultimate digital nomad whose magic is in his ability to dissect societal trends and engage online and offline audiences socially to drive sales, brand awareness and breakthrough thinking. He’s joining as an Entrepreneur in Resident in Lisbon this July and August as he takes his Most Famous Artist and Mural Agencies global for the first time. Throughout the summer we look forward to inspiring each other, our residents and the Lisbon art and digital communities through interactive workshops, high profile projects and daily interactions.”
Matty doesn’t play it safe. Mundane is not Matty’s style. His brilliance is knowing how people react and harnessing that energy. A mix of anger, giddy delight, and sheer amusement lead newspapers to write stories and publish videos. Matty Mo is a master of media. With seemingly simple ideas, he creates intrigue, attention, and value.
His current and upcoming ventures include an international mural agency, a global network of nomadic artists, a high-end satirical fashion line, and AI-based artwork that relies on proprietary software built by anonymous hackers. As an Entrepreneur in Residence with NomadX, Matty will not only continue developing his agency and creating projects, but also serve as a mentor and coach to those who seek to learn from the master of self-promotion, personal branding, and viral social media. For those who have followed his rise to fame, it will serve as an opportunity to learn from his methodology and discover the secrets that led to his ascent to the top. NomadX is elated to have Matty join as an EIR and we can’t wait to see what he does in Lisbon. If you’re interested in joining, sign up at https://tmfa.nomadx.com/
