The 10 Best Camps and Retreats for Digital Nomads
For those times you want to connect with other digital nomads, inspire creativity, do fun activities and workshops, plus even dig deeper into your spirituality and life purpose, here are the best digital nomad retreats and camps to check out.
Being a digital nomad has a lot of perks. You can travel whenever the mood strikes, stay as long as you’d like, and get to really immerse yourself in a new culture. But for all the benefits of being a digital nomad, there are some downsides. One of the biggest is that it can be a little lonely at times. If you’re not traveling with a partner or friend, moving from place to place means you need to find a new crew to hang out with at your latest location.
With that in mind, there are several camps and retreats specifically targeted toward digital nomads. In these camps and retreats, you can meet up with fellow nomads, swap tales, take care of your work, and then move on when you’re ready. Here are a few to keep on your radar:
The Nomad Escape
Billed as “The Ultimate Road Trip,” Nomad Escape Co-Founders and best friends Michelle Maree, Creative & Tour Leader, and Andreas Machado, Videographer, put together groups of nine people to travel for 21 days to 12 destinations. So if you are looking for adventure, fun and a bonding experience, this is an amazing trip. Every day, they travel to a new spot, where you’ll get new accommodations which are very high end and participate in adventurous and fun activities. If you hit their “early bird special,” you can expect to pay €1599. A cool bonus feature of Nomad Escape: They have a videographer document the whole thing, so you’ll have a video of your experience after the fact. They are based in Portugal and have produced successful trips in 2019 starting in Lisbon to Rome and to Marseille. If this sounds appealing, join their next trip from January 5th -25th traveling around the tropical and beautiful Portuguese Madeira Island off the coast of Africa.
This trip is for nomads, remote workers, solo travelers or anyone who wants to become one. Travel for 21 days with their crew and do things that make you forget to check your phone. Truly connect with like-minded people. Have the flexibility to get some work done while being on the road exploring amazing destinations. Since emote work and solo travel can be a bit lonely and hectic sometimes, they are here to help as they connect you with like-minded people, help you unplug from work and creating meaningful travel connections for life.
Get Shit Done Live
Get Shit Done Live is a 10-day “high performance productivity sprint” run by popular podcast host, productivity expert and location independent entrepreneur, Chris Reynolds from The Business Method Podcast. He’s created an incredible program for entrepreneurs by entrepreneurs. At the conference, you’ll learn how to do more in a shorter period of time, get tangible results, work in a flow state without distractions and, ultimately, help you make more money. During the conference, you’ll join up with other nomads at a private location. The cost: $697 plus accommodation cost. Each year, about 70% of the attendees decided to stay on location, hang out after the event, continue to work together and build business, while eating amazing Thai food, visiting ancient temples, going to elephant parks, getting Thai massages and enjoying the best the country has to offer. The accommodation prices are for the 10-days of the event, but because the location only rents rooms for a minimum of 4-weeks, as an extra bonus you can stay up to a month on location in the same room for no additional cost! Use the code NOMADX for a $100 discount.
Freedom X Festival
The Freedom X Festival, “The Global Festival on the Location Independent Movement” is produced by partners Estela Kun and John Abbott, both famous authors, enlightened human beings and creators, who bring together like-minded people in one spot to do fun events and educational experiences, and listen to speakers, with the hope that you’ll leave with a little more knowledge (and, of course, some fun memories). The event is held in a secret location on a secret date — you only get clued in once you join the community. The most recent one was held in Budapest and the next one is planned for Bali. Prices vary, but can range from €90 to €210 depending on the level of access you want.
Freedom Experience started as a passion project with the aim of bringing together a like-minded group of freedom leaders, launching initially with our online (Freedom Summit) and later live events (Freedom X Fest), aimed at opening a discussion to evolve the freedom lifestyle movement.
Today, not yet 2 years in, they’ve positively impacted thousands of lives through their online and offline events, education, impact projects and festivals.

In general, you’ll shell out $1,550 for a two-week stay, $2,190 for a four-week stay, and $1,860 a month if you do a three- to 12-month trip.
